VOCATIONAL NURSING PROGRAM / LVN
Overview: One-year full time program. Curriculum requirements include 1540 hours: 576 theory and 964 clinical. The program is divided into three terms:

Term One:
Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of Nursing, Communication, Nursing Process, Patient Education, Nutrition and Pharmacology

Term Two:
Psychology, Gerontology, Integumentary, Communicable Diseases, Rehabilitation Nursing, Cardiology, Respiratory, Leadership and Supervision, and Patient Education

Term Three:
Patient Education, Normal Growth and Development, Maternity Nursing, Pediatrics, Endocrine, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, and Neurosensory

All theoretical knowledge presented in the classroom will be correlated with the student's clinical experience. The entire program is designed so that the learner will gain knowledge and experience to prepare him/her to perform competently in the clinical setting. Clinical experience includes practice in the skills laboratory and involves patient care assignment in various acute and long-term health care facilities.

The student will participate actively in the classroom, skills laboratory, and the clinical setting and the instructor will facilitate the learning process. Various methods of instruction, communication, and interaction will be utilized to facilitate effective learning. Evaluation of classroom and clinical performance will be continuously monitored throughout the entire program.
